Review on Vantec CB-ST00U3 NexStar USB 3.0 to SATA 6Gbps Adapter: Efficient Optical/Storage Connection, Black by June Reeves

Very handy adapter considering more and more computer cases don't have an optical drive bay. Since I only use my optical drive once a month, I can understand why. This adapter gives me the ability to connect an optical drive on those rare occasions. Works well. Plugged it in and my computer immediately recognized the drive. I love the rubber mat that comes with it. Great idea from Nextstar. Protects any surface you place your disc on from scratches. Now for the downside. The power supply cord is too short, only about 4 feet long. Considering the location of your PC and outlet, and the fact that you'll likely be placing the optical drive on your desk, the cable should be at least 6 feet long, preferably 7-8 feet. The cord didn't reach the outlet, so I had to run a 6-foot extension cord there. What I wanted was more wires (pure sarcasm). That's why I only gave 2 stars for the "easy to use" feature. The manufacturer was very short-sighted about the length of the cable (or cheapness).
