I had automatic updates turned off and the printer was offline so it didn't update at all. I have cycled the printer on and off but no luck, I still get the error and don't like the yellow cartridge. I even tried erasing it with an eraser. I hate the idea of paying HP to hold me hostage. Update I upgraded them to 5 stars. The yellow didn't work but they sent me new cartridges 24 hours later. Excellent customer service. Unfortunately, the latest HP firmware didn't allow them to work. Kingjet gave me a full refund and their customer service was great throughout the process. If you can take the risk, they can work for you.
