First of all, it is rather small. But you're not paying that much for it, so that's to be expected. I love that my kid can paint this themselves, although we used the acrylic paint I had and not the ones that came with the kit. I think it's gotten better. I was a bit disappointed that the planets didn't match at all in comparison. But my planet loving 5 year old took it upon himself to fix that by simply changing the planets to fit better and coloring them the color of the planet he chose. The sun still had to get bigger, but he was fine with it. It wasn't very difficult for us to put it together, quite easy actually, so I don't understand why others are having such difficulty. There are small notches on both sides of the parts of the planet that you need to adjust. The metal rods required some pressure, but that counts for all the "hard" work this entailed. I really wish it was a lot bigger and more accurate, but it was a neat little project that my 5 year old was able to complete in under half an hour. .
