The gums do not cause any pain (which I was most afraid of). Using this brush is a delightful experience. After trying out the brush on me, my husband decided he wanted one too because he found that he enjoyed using it quite a bit. Plaque can be effectively removed with this brush, which is a significant advantage of using it.
