These little pins were perfect for a repair I was making on a road boot for our boat. Other reviewers said the needles break easily and I was concerned about that. I broke one, but that was because I pushed the needle sideways. Put in a new #4 and have tried not to do it again and had no problems. This is very similar to a sewing machine needle and if you move them sideways instead of up and down they will also break. However, if you pull the yarn straight away from the stitch and not to the side, you shouldn't have a problem with the yarn breaking. Buy 2 just in case. I just bought 2 more because I know I need to fix more seams on this boat cover.
