I loved how perfectly and quickly they fitted. I love the super light and fast lacing and as a system it doesn't feel too tight here but too loose there. There is a tongue that you can tongue out for. The soles clung to everything I could find, and steep descents were pure joy. They don't make wet, not even dewy grass. They're not built for dirt unless that's all you need them for. The mesh filters out dust, dirt and sand so the shoe only fills with small particles that get inside. Too bad they aren't designed for dry desert rubble or deep sand. The ankle cuff doesn't protect against the dirt that the sole of the shoe pulls out of what you're walking on with every step. Dry grass also penetrates the boot, and seeds and dirt find plenty of internal flaps and elastic edges to hide inside. Sand gets into the insoles and is never fully cleaned. I hope to see a new model in the future with lighter weight Gore-Tex protection over the tongue to keep dirt off the shoe and a heel tab.
