As long as your expectations are realistic, you should be very happy. I've been making audio for my church for over 20 years, so I have some experience with audio equipment. I bought this system to have fun singing karaoke with friends without spending thousands on a mixer, wireless mics, etc. Let me start by saying that we had an absolute blast with this. I was playing songs from YouTube, just type "karaoke song title". Depending on your TV, you may need a D/A converter to transfer audio from Toslink to this device. I love the simple mixer and effects built into this unit. The microphones are good enough for karaoke and have a range of around 50 feet. That's by no means the quality level of Shure wireless microphones, but for amateur karaoke we were thrilled. Overall sound quality will likely depend more on the speakers than on those mics. Unless you use a professional sound system. I don't think this system can get any better for the money.
