My gateway laptop screen was starting to stop working, it was doing some weird things and pressing the screen was the only way to get it working! Grrrrrrr. I did a search and found a video on how to take apart the display assembly, did it, put it back together and it still doesn't work. I checked if the graphics card is working properly by plugging the VGA port into another monitor and everything was fine. There must be something with a thin circuit board on the back of the screen, I thought. So I looked up the screen's model number on Revain and here it is. Received much faster than promised. Within 10 minutes I installed the new screen and was ready for the moment of truth: turn it on! It immediately turned out bright, bold and beautiful! Went like clockwork. A much cheaper alternative to buying a new laptop or handing it over to the nerd team where they pay $75 to tell me I need a new screen. Quick fix and it worked like a charm.
