Review on 🐾 Aluminum Pet Ramp - Prairie View Industries, 15" x 39 by Jennifer Groom

The ramp I received is only slightly similar to the one shown here. The hinges are different and obviously a much cheaper design, and the design is completely different. On the surface, the description fits: it's aluminum, it's up to 2.10m long (I ordered the longest), it has a handle and a grippy finish. But that's all I can say about it. Due to the different construction of the hinge, the overlap is approximately 6 inches on one side. That means the folded ramp is 6 inches longer than I expected so it doesn't fit where I wanted to store it. The ramp I received also does not have handrails on the sides as shown in the model shown. I'm not sure the small 1" handrails shown in the photos will keep my dog safe as they don't prevent him from getting off the ramp, but I suspect they did give him stability and strength will give. a ramp that would solve another of my problems with this ramp: it flexes a lot. I wouldn't trust this £250 ramp for anything. I didn't dare climb it myself and I only weigh 180 pounds. .Another side effect of the different hinge design is that half of the ramp is forked. They are actually two ramps side by side, and flexing the two sections makes the ramp even less solid. From all angles, this ramp feels flimsy and cheap, and my dog finds it uncomfortable to walk on (perhaps because of the curvature). One of the advantages of the new design is that it's a bit thinner. That's a small plus. I think it's also lighter as there's a lot less metal in this design, but I'd prefer we were bigger and stronger. It's very light and easy to carry for me (but I'm a 6ft/180lb male so that may not mean it's easy to carry for others). If I paid half the price for this ramp I would be happy. But having bought one of the most expensive pet ramps found here at Revain I expected it to be a quality product but it isn't. I'm afraid I'll have to box up and ship this big thing and start looking for a dog ramp all over again, but I think I'll have to do that. I would probably like the product in the photo but the ramp I received was disappointing and overpriced for what it is.
