I have had problems with swelling so my doctor recommended wearing compression stockings to see if that helps. I'm 5'4" and they come just below the knee, but I have to adjust my foot and heel a lot because my shoe is only a size 7 1/2. You can wear it, but it takes a little time "Adjust them to fit snugly. There's some compression in the foot area but not in the toes and for me there's almost no compression in the ankle where I need it most. However it does offer decent slight compression in the leg area. I can wear them comfortably all day and they help with swelling.I still have swelling but it's not as bad as when I wear regular socks. If the swelling is bad I don't wear them I don't think they work but they are suitable for slight swelling. I like that there are different colors. Locally I can only find black compression stockings. This time I bought beige. They are in dark khaki, which looks more like regular socks to me than na ch what I need for medical reasons.
