Review on Carlinkit Mini Wireless Carplay Adapter With This New Faster Wi-Fi 5 Chipset/Internal Hardware by Gavin Dunne

I have a 2021 Hyundai Palisade with wired Apple CarPlay only. Apparently 2021 and later models support wireless Apple CarPlay if you have an 8-inch screen, but pricier 10.25-inch models don't allow wireless connection. It seems strange considering that pricier models have Qi charging for wireless phones, which you'll never be able to use if you want Apple CarPlay. As a result, I bought this adapter after watching several video reviews of different brands on YouTube. The reason I chose the CarLinkIt over models like the CarPlay2Air was that it had a detachable USB-C to USB-A connection cable. Other models seem to have a non-removable connector, which worries me if the cable frays or breaks over time. The detachable plug allows me to replace the cable with a longer one if needed, etc. Connection was very easy. I plugged the dongle into the USB port and the download took a few seconds. The initial setup involved me connecting to my iPhone via Bluetooth as a one-time setup. Once connected, it started the Apple CarPlay download process and communicated over WiFi from my phone to the dongle. The entire process took about 45 seconds from start to finish. I used it last week and it worked pretty well. It takes about 30 seconds from cold start to full boot up, so I think it's good enough for my needs. I didn't notice any lag between wireless and wired connection in terms of command response. Siri works great and the steering wheel controls also allow you to activate Siri as well as skip songs etc. Overall very happy with my purchase and happy to have Wireless Apple CarPlay. It makes my car less cluttered! Highly recommended.
