I bought this refurbished Kodak camera from Revain. I know there are cameras with more megapixels but I needed a good zoom. I live in the mountains and we have a lot of wild animals. They're usually a reasonable distance away though, so you'll need a good zoom to get good shots. However, this seems to work fine. The only problem I have is the long time it takes for the zoom to focus. Sometimes he seems to be looking for a topic to focus on and that drives me crazy. I know I skip keyframes as wild animals don't usually stand still for you to photograph them! Some have complained about the lens cap popping off when the camera is turned on. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't like popping the flash on the camera manually. This is a silly feature that Kodak should have fixed. I haven't used any of the scene modes, so I can't comment on that aspect of the camera. Thank god it's easy to work because inst. The manual that comes with it is pathetic. I also don't use the Easy Share software. I ordered a charger from Revain with two spare batteries and so far I have no complaints about the battery life. So for a person who consciously chose zoom over megapixels, I'm satisfied. The price difference between a new model and a refurbished model (which looked brand new and had no scratches) was huge and allowed me to buy this camera. For the price I think it's a good buy. I bought an extended warranty from Square[.] in case I run into any issues.
