The speakers charged straight out of the box for 4 hours of use! They're a bit stronger than I expected, which is why the shepherd hooks I've bought from Lowe tend to bend under the weight of these bad guys. I installed one at each end of our pool and installation was very easy. It actually rained on us for 30 minutes and the speakers kept playing without hiccups. The sound is really very good. 25 watts are enough not only to drown out the neighbors, but also to make the woman go outside and advise them to turn them off. The sound is very crisp with above average bass for a speaker of this size. If I had to be picky, the only working issue would be that the LEDs were about 1 second apart or less, and it didn't matter if they were inches or 21 feet apart. Actually, it's nothing to worry about. My only real problem is that there is no app to manage them. I would like to be able to turn the light on and off from the app instead of having to leave the pool to set it. That's the only thing holding me back from a 5 star rating.
