They're made for monster cupcakes, not ordinary ones! I made over 60 cupcakes for my son's birthday and spent hours decorating them with him. I bought these boxes to keep locally and have a box to send cupcakes home with others. They mount well, but the holes in the holder insert are a messy size. The cupcakes slip under the lip and the edges are trimmed with frosting. About half of my cupcakes have either fallen on their sides or slipped under the rim of the holder. I was so upset but couldn't cry because my son's birthday turned out to be a sad day instead of a happy one. I'm so thankful I was able to take some good photos before they were destroyed. The box itself is a little flimsy when full. 12 decorated cupcakes are very difficult. It wasn't easy to carry these boxes without fear that the boxes would open and lose their shape when lifted. The 6 cupcake boxes in my picture were a much better solution. I included photos to show that my cupcakes were a very normal size and the high frosting was the only thing that saved them. This 100% needs a redesign!
