Material chips and chips

I liked the idea of these cheese slate markers but was disappointed to see lots of flakes and chips as soon as I opened the package. I was concerned that the slate material would actually peel off our food boards so I sent them back immediately. Maybe I have a bad set? Instead I chose to use the paper style on the toothpicks.
