I received this monitor stand to replace the horrible stand that came with my Samsung 2433BW 24 inch monitor. It's amazing how big a difference there is between looking at a monitor horizontally or from below and looking at it from above. It's easy on your neck as you can actually lean against the back of a chair. The outer shell is made of plastic (matte black) and feels pretty solid as it won't crack, while the inner stand is all metal. This thing weighs 6 pounds and is surprisingly very stable with the monitor standing on it. If your monitor has a VESA 100x100 mount, 3M includes 4 thumbscrews that can be used instead of regular screws, which is very convenient, smaller monitors with 75x75 mount or recessed mount need to use regular screws. , a few cons. Firstly it is NOT a +/- 30° tilt but +25°/-5° which is not a huge negative tilt, it would be much better if it was +20°/-10°. There's also no "click" to keep the monitor in a perfect horizontal or perfect vertical position, which is a little annoying. The cable routing hole is too small, the RF shield of my DVI cable could not be passed through. I could use a file and enlarge the hole, but I don't have to. Plus it's made in China so your money doesn't stay here, shame on you 3M. All in all this is a great stand that should be standard on any monitor, it just has a few minor flaws that come at a price.
