Review on OUTLIFE Lightweight Resistant Mountaineering Backpack by Rick Kreutzer

Good hiking backpack - great price!

The Outlife hiking backpack is a good backpack at a great price. I do a lot of hiking/camping/canoeing in northern Minnesota. I used everything from Duluth packs, old GI Alice packs and new style packs. This pack is on par with some of the more expensive packs in terms of storage space and quality. Keep in mind that this is a frameless backpack but it does have a padded back which I found quite comfortable. There is also a top storage compartment that I will use for the hydration pack. To test this pack I downloaded some stuff and ran a mile this weekend. I felt comfortable the whole time I used it. Easy to adjust and doesn't fray on any part of my shoulders. I would consider this a 5 day summer package or a 3 day winter package. (maybe a bit more) My friend is going camping in late fall so he borrowed a bunch of my stuff which I would load up to explore the place. In my photos I gave you an idea of what I added so you can judge how much space was taken up. With all items loaded, this pack was still only half full. There will be enough space for a sleeping bag, clothes, mattress cover and a more compact tent than the one shown. People complained that the straps weren't sewn on. They must have fixed it because all mine were double stitched and couldn't be pulled out. All in all, I think it's a good offer and I'm curious how winter hiking will fare in January!

Pros
  • Hiking backpacks
Cons
  • Slightly torn
