I would give this device 5 stars unless it should be able to accommodate thicker cases. Most active people use cases to protect their phones. I took these photos without the elastic bands so you can see which cases work and which are problematic. The elastic strap even holds a problem phone but I'm afraid it might fall out of the grip. Look closely at the photos. The bike mount perfectly holds the white phone in a slim body. The bike mount has little grip on the black body with kickstand and almost no grip on the red body with magnetic mount. If you move the grip to avoid the protrusions on the back of the case, the grip applies undue pressure on the power and volume buttons. The other option is to take the phone out of the case to use the bike mount, but that defeats the purpose of using the case to protect the phone.
