Good things first: - Works. High quality metal so not a flimsy block that will break easily or soon. There are two screw holes on the bottom for two standard tripod sizes. Now for the bad: The whole unit is assembled and screwed in slightly askew where it doesn't move and the screws are so tight that even my husband couldn't undo them to see if we could adjust them. The block still works, just had to adjust it on the tripod so I could still see the prompter text, even if the whole block looked skewed - maybe we just caught one that somehow bypassed quality control (see below). An example of this is the close-up photo with the red arrows - the glass is tilted a bit so we have to mount the camera by rotating it slightly and then rotate the whole unit so *the glass* is facing straight so I can read - workable but oh well , it should never have left the factory in this form); - The lens hood that covers the back and camera (to keep the light out so you can actually read the text on the mirror glass) is too small. It closes well with Velcro, but needs to be a lot longer - even with our camera mounted close, not further up the skid (if you want a wider field of view), the hood doesn't quite fit. down to block the light, meaning the text cannot be read. We just made our own case. This unit does not support an 11" iPad Pro in any way, regardless of the suggested "mod" for removing the back brace - it *barely* fits my iPad 2 (smaller than Pro) with no back mount and without that back mount on the iPad less stable - works well when not touching it to adjust something or pressing the buttons on the iPad etc. ALSO the screw(s) holding the smartphone/tablet mounts cannot be removed so when When you remove the bracket the screw is still there which will scratch the back of your iPad/tablet - you may not mind too much but I've always kept my devices in pristine condition for resale so I had to add a small bumper add to protect the back from scratches Design flaws To be honest all the issues are pretty minor and we found workarounds so I think *for the price* (less than $100) it is This isn't a good enough unit and if you order it you might get it without the assembly being crooked. For these new videos you should know that you STILL need a "tips" app for your tablet or smartphone, the Parrot Teleprompter app is free and works very well and you can get a remote control for it on the Parrot website for 20 Buy dollars (for starters). /stop scrolling, backup, etc.). If you are using a (second) smartphone/desk to record video (rather than a standard DSLR camcorder) then there are many bluetooth remotes that you can get very cheaply to start/stop recording.
