Review on Slice Ceramic Scissor Friendly Phthalate by Angela Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to cut, sharp cuts to the tip.

Ceramic scissors It's a whole new experience. These scissors are very sharp and easy to use. They have the advantage that, in contrast to metal scissors, you do not have to label "fabric scissors” separately from "paper scissors”, as the transition between the two does not affect sharpness. You cut to the top. They also work well whether you're left- or right-handed. These are the first pair of scissors my left handed granddaughter was comfortable with while cutting. I've had these scissors for four days now and have tested them on myself. I'm getting ready for Christmas and I think that's a godsend • Although they're small, they cut plain paper neatly, but even better, they can handle thicker paper. I built a little Christmas village from templates I downloaded from the internet (they're called cleaning houses - fun, but tedious). I've used 65 lb paper as well as the backs of cereal boxes and shirt gift boxes. I use a utility knife for most straight cuts, but when I need to work with curved lines (like roof tiles or wreaths) these scissors are great for cutting thicker paper and lighter card stock with ease. • They not only cut thick paper, they also cut very thin paper such as tissue paper or foil very well. I use this transparent paper to create light effects when closing windows and doors, allowing a battery powered candle of any color to shine through. collages) they look like they're perfect for the most intricate cuts, even with embossed images. These scissors are easier to maneuver than any I've tried. • I have also used them to cut ribbons (silk, velvet and cross) for Christmas hairpins for my granddaughters and granddaughters. They make perfectly clean cuts. • I used them to cut sheets of contact paper and sticker paper. They cut beautifully and are easy to clean afterwards • They even cut through the hardened globs of hot glue that are sometimes left after attaching an ornament or two pieces of tape • Unfortunately I had to unpick the cross stitch when I realized I had misunderstood the color chart , and i used the wrong color for a large area. I had to make a fine cut, so I just cut the thread, not the canvas. They were perfect as I was able to get the lace between the thread and the canvas. I couldn't do it with a ripper or my other scissors. These scissors are perfect for small projects and details. They are easy to use and don't cause hand fatigue when cutting, even if you have arthritic hands (like mine). This is the perfect pair of scissors for sewing and crafting. Only for large projects they are NOT suitable. I wouldn't use them for cutting out a dress pattern or gift wrapping - you need longer scissors to cover a project like this. I also decided I didn't want to risk them on shiny paper, cardboard, or pipe cleaners (because of the metal), although I'm sure they cut great.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Not sharp enough for fine cutting of small pieces of Japanese cloth paper
