I have an old laptop from 2011, I put 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD in it, it helped a lot, but the processor slowed down. I found a quad-core i7 from that era and bought it used, but it didn't work in the laptop, hit temperature limits very quickly and shut down. I tried "quality" thermal paste and it just didn't work. So I decided to try this, well it worked. I've also used it on an nVidia graphics chip and motherboard chipset controller. It works. There are no more problems with heating, I recommend. I've posted some photos - remember this is a LAPTOP so mid 50C is pretty good for a light 30-45% load.
