After carefully researching tatami mats and other Japanese futons that usually start at $200 for a double bed, I jumped at the deal and I'm so happy about it! I'm recovering from a back injury. where sleeping on the floor was better than my bed and sofa (both replaced)! I needed solid support and after researching again I found out what tatami mats were designed for. If you are looking for a super plush, soft rug, then a tatami rug is not for you. Maybe adding a mattress topper might help... I also waited the recommended amount of time for it to fully expand and it did. No, it's not exactly the same as the photo BUT it came out of the box folded and compact. I had realistic expectations so I'm not disappointed in the slightest! I've seen other "full disclosure" mats from other sellers and this one was the best choice! I appreciate how well it was packaged! Comes with 2 large pockets that I used to store other blankets in. The kit also included straps to keep the mat folded for storage. There was no strange smell as I read from other sellers so I was very happy about that! I plan to order floor cushions from this seller soon! I've tried eating on the floor and it's gotten a lot better. Very happy with this company Thank you!
