I got this to use with an mSATA card and it works fine. However, it seems intended for use when the motherboard does not have a PCIe slot that matches the slot cover. This may be true for many cases, but not for me and is not stated in the description. The card sits too low on the bracket to disconnect the bus connector. I was able to insert it next to the port, but it wouldn't work if I had an M.2 card installed. (See photo.) Unfortunately, the low-profile design might not accommodate mSATA and M.2 connectors, and be small enough vertically to free up a bus connector. As long as this card is functional, it should be used in an unconnected chassis slot on the motherboard. The motherboard should not have any other protruding components near the slot. THIS LIMITATION MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE DESCRIPTION.
