I have an old Food Saver vacuum sealer that is at least 10 years old. I was on the phone with my cousin while I was using the car and he scolded me for such a noisy seal and said there are many quieter ones. So I did some research and found VERIFOST. I went to You Tube to find the video and try to understand how loud it is. I've sealed about 12 bags since yesterday. The car is very quiet. I like that it works better than Food Saver. I love that you latch the lid and press start and you can leave while it's being sealed to continue on to the next pack. With the Food Saver, I had to hold the lid down until the bag started to vacuum, then I was free to leave. And the sealing strip on the Verifrost is about twice as thick (width?) than the Food Saver, which I think results in less chance of a leak. The final win is that it was about 1/3 the price of the old Food Saver. I don't think you will be disappointed with this car.
