I plugged it in the day I received it and it has worked the whole time with no problems. Setup is easy. The quality and speed of the connection seem to be impeccable. Despite its size, the adapter feels very light, but is still well made. I can't comment on durability IF it's regularly needed for mobile use (e.g. used with a laptop, plugged and unplugged frequently, tossed in a bag along with other cables and accessories). I installed it on the back of my iMac and it very rarely turns off and is not exposed to potentially more dangerous situations. However, overall it has been very reliable in the context in which I use it. I find it will still be just as reliable in a conference room or back room where it remains connected to a display or projector (ready to connect to the presenter's computer).
