In fact, this should be a mandatory safety feature in modern cars.

If you take taxis, take them. Drunk passengers try to open the doors in all sorts of situations where they are not aware of the traffic, and the flashing light gets the intended attention! They are cheap and easy to install. Remember that the magnet needs to get close to the light to reset the cycle, so it doesn't need to be directly above it when the doors close. I've had them for a few weeks now and only had to adjust them once.
