Bought 3 of these to use with our TV systems. We use TIVO boxes with all of our TVs, both as DVRs and tuners, replacing the regular Spectrum cable boxes. To decode scrambled cable on all channels we have decoder/interface units supplied by Spectrum. A few times a month our TIVOs report that interface units are missing, damaged, etc. and show a big blue screen with an error message instead of the correct TV program. . Sometimes several times. Since access to the cables was difficult, I installed these plugs with derailleurs and placed the derailleurs up front next to the TIVO. And they work great. So far we have not had a planned power outage from our energy supplier. When the power came back all the TVs were dead. Because this unit resets its outlet to the OFF position when it is turned off. Yes, just press the switches again, but if you don't know or aren't home, your powered-on device will be disabled until you turn it on manually. For critical devices or uninformed family members, this can become ugly and/or frustrating.
