I bought this cable to replace the cable provided by the quad bay external drive enclosure manufacturer. The manufacturer's cable didn't fit well into my Mac Mini Thunderbolt 3 ports, resulting in "hard drive ejected incorrectly" error messages when I moved the computer slightly. Very upset over $450 product. I was concerned that the problem might be due to a faulty computer port, but a basevs rep answered Revain's question and explained that they had tested extensively and hadn't had any connection loss issues on the Mac Mini or a few others. Devices. So I bought a cable. Firstly, this cable solved the disconnection problem. The basevs cable fits into the Mac mini Thunderbolt connector with a distinct "latch" and securely locks into place. Fairly vigorous wiggling of the cable didn't result in disconnection, so the original problem was solved. I am also delighted with the quality of this cable. It's a lot more flexible than the plastic jacketed cable supplied by the manufacturer and looks really well made. The basevs cable is 3.3 meters long compared to Apple's 0.8 meter cable and costs about twice as much. The extra length and cost are big pluses. Finally, it comes in "premium" quality packaging reminiscent of Apple packaging. And when you register your cable with basevs, you have a lifetime guarantee. What more can you ask for?
