I bought this cable to replace the cable provided by the quad bay external drive enclosure manufacturer. The manufacturer's cable didn't fit well into my Mac Mini Thunderbolt 3 ports, resulting in "hard drive ejected incorrectly" error messages when I moved the computer slightly.
