Great pair of winter boots

I was going to Nome, Alaska in March and I needed boots that I could walk around town in that would keep my feet warm, have enough grip on the ice, and still be comfortable enough to wear. on the plane and for a long time. I tried on about 10 different boots and finally settled on these. They were just great! I've had heavier boots (rated for -45 degrees Fahrenheit) for shoveling snow and ice skating, but these were the boots I wore when walking around town and going to indoor events. I was very happy with the grip - I was on the ice most of the time and felt very secure in my stance. Judging by the layout of the boot it would be possible to put yak caterpillars on it but I didn't need to. They kept my feet warm even though the temperature was around 0 degrees most of the time we were there. They were also incredibly comfortable. I wore them at home for a few hours but other than that they were not put to the test until the day we left. No chafing or discomfort anywhere. I usually wear a size 9.5 in shoes, going down to a size 10 for winter boots so I can wear thicker socks (and maybe insoles). I bought them in size 10 and they fit perfectly. What I really liked was the sock. They are a bit looser in this area which gave my fingers some wiggle room and added comfort. While I aimed for comfort and warmth, they also got a little more stylish. I liked her look more than any of my options, but that was just a bonus as I would wear anything that met my utilitarian criteria. After 10 days they held up very well and there were no signs of wear on the upper. Very very happy with my purchase!
