This pin came in a pretty box which is great for gift wrapping. The pen itself is a bright and shiny gold color. It's very detailed and beautiful. Black crystals are interesting and give the pin a neat look. The chains tend to twist, but I expected that. Straightening the limbs takes a few minutes after you attach the pin to the lapel. This is costume jewelry, so the tallow will eventually stain it. It's a safety pin, so it shouldn't make too much contact with the skin, and discoloration shouldn't be a problem much longer than if it were a ring or bracelet.
