I love this bottle for everyday use and always carry it with me when I'm away for more than a few hours. However, I thought it had a basic matte texture, but instead it has a rough, grainy texture. It's good for grip, but I've found the granularity is enough to rub ink off book covers, magazines, and leather goods fairly hard. This dirt/ink/whatever gets into the texture of the sand and is very difficult to remove from the bottle. That really sucks TBH(￣ー￣)! Also, I dropped it the first week I had it and was a little surprised at how easily the cap of the bottle dented and scratched. Eventually, the rubber part in my cap discolored fairly quickly and I noticed that black bacteria deposits may have formed in the neck of the bottle. When they say keep it open and don't keep it sealed with liquid for more than 24 hours, they really mean it because it's unsanitary! Granted I have to be a more responsible Swell user but I would 100% buy another one of these because it gets the job done (just doesn't look as hard).
