The blanket is enormous. Are people shrinking or something? I don’t want to sound like I’m "get off my lawn” years old (I mean, I am but still) but when I was younger, blankets averaged 72 inches long. Now I’m seeing them top out at 60. Did the average human height drop a foot and I didn’t notice? Do kids these days like having their feet freeze in the night? I’m constantly adjusting knitting and crochet blankets from "designed for a hobbit” to "designed for a human” and every electric blanket I’ve found before this runs more hobbit than human. This bad boy? At 62 inches wide, it’s longer on the short side than some are on the long side. At 84 inches long, it’s absolutely dreamy. I don’t end up with a knee or a foot poking out of it in the night.The cord is amply long. I was a bit concerned because the plug is by the foot of my bed on the right, but the cord connects to the top of the blanket on the left and I didn’t want it running across me, but I wanted access to the controls. I just swapped it around so the cord connects on the bottom right and the control switch had more than enough wire to come up to where I needed it and then fold down to being plugged in.The controls give you many options. You can set the temperature and time until it shuts off and you can see the temperature rise until it hits what you set it to. It’s really fast. As with a previous electric blanket, it took my orange cat less than five minutes to figure out how to turn it on for a warm napping spot.The material is soft and comfortable. The blanket is absolutely beautiful. There is nothing here not to love.
