This is a nice little radio and I really like it. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1) The sound for such a small radio is amazing! It's a good full sound with lots of volume. 2) I like the rechargeable and user-replaceable Lion battery. This gives a good runtime 3) I like the digital tuner with direct input of the radio frequency 4) The tuner is good. I have a list of radio stations in my area and they are all very well tuned. 5) I put in a micro SD card with some music and it plays fine. Haven't tried the USB connection 6) The radio is really pocket sized with rounded sides so it fits easily in your pocket 7) The included support plug allows you to mount the radio vertically on a table 8) The FM rod antenna is front facing User interchangeable. 9) The flashlight is bright, only one LED. Cons: 1) LED display (not LCD) is always on. This should drain the battery. In the best case, the display goes out after 15 seconds and then turns on again by pressing any button. 2) Headphone volume is very low compared to speaker volume. If the speaker volume is set to a reasonable level, the headphones will be quiet when plugged in. In order to use headphones, I have to turn the volume up to almost full volume. 3) I thought this radio allows you to preset your favorite stations. Well, sort of, but not in the way you might expect. Here's how it works: You press and hold the "forward" button until the radio goes into scan mode. At this point, it automatically searches for every radio station it can listen to and assigns a preset number to it. After the scan is complete, you can access your favorite station by entering the corresponding preset number. The problem is that you have to remember the preset number for each of your favorite radio stations. In other words, you can't just preset your favorite stations like you can with a car radio. 4) This radio has a stereo FM tuner but the separation between the channels seems poor to me. Of course, you only hear stereo in the headphones, since there is only one loudspeaker. 5) When playing music from the SD card, the display shows some kind of stupid rotating light show that just sucks the battery. Maybe the kid wants something like that, but it seems reckless to me. 6) There is a lit battery icon on the display that says nothing. It is a fake. When the battery dies, the radio just dies without warning. 7) The rod antenna only moves left or right, it does not move forward or backward. If you want the antenna to face forward or backward, rotate the entire radio. This will no longer direct the speaker the way you would like it to be. I gave it 4 stars because of the way the radio handled the preset stations and the "always on" indicator. I know I've had a lot of "cons", but they're not too bad considering this thing only costs $15. I am happy with the radio and would buy it again.
