Review on Enhanced Noise Canceling: BlueParrott B550-XT Bluetooth Headset (Renewed) by Robert Cooper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great option if you have a noisy environment!

I tried several Bluetooth options including the highly rated Plantronic Voyageur 5200 and this was the best solution for me. That's a lot more than any other model (obviously), but I work remotely with two dogs on the phone and this is the only headset that actually has the promised background noise cancellation. My biggest issue with the Plantronic headset was the connection - it could start to sound distorted, like the person was underwater. The biggest issue (which doesn't really matter for my situation) is that this headset has poor range - I usually lose connection within 15ft and sometimes I lose connection with the phone. Reconnecting the headset doesn't take long but is distracting when making calls. Overall, this was the best headset for my situation. If I were traveling I wouldn't know what I would use this for due to the size and bulkiness of the headset. However, if you have a noisy environment, it's worth the sacrifice!

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
