Measured chest and waist measurements. I have a 50" chest when I'm holding my breath (47" when not) and a 44" waist. So XXL should be a bit looser. It's VERY cozy. For example, I could wear it if I like tight clothes. But if the measurements show that he should have 2 inches of room to move in his chest and hold as much air as possible, then he shouldn't be squeezing my chest when I exhale and very tight when I normally inhale . Then I read the reviews that it shrinks even more in the wash! So we return. 🤦🏻‍♂️
