I bought this to digitize some old family VHS videos before the tapes break or my 1989 camera stops working. I first bought a cheap EasyCap for $5. It worked and I converted a few tapes but wasn't very happy with the result, the video was ok but the audio was really annoying which made me look for the best option for it. Then I stumbled across it and after reading some of the reviews here I decided to give it a try. God I'm really glad I did it. Not only is the sound as good as it could be, but the video makes a big difference compared to EasyCap. The $30 difference is nothing when you consider the jump in quality for all these rare memories. Then I watched the YouTube video "How to convert a VHS tape to 60p (NTSC) digital video" which helped me a lot, I recommend it to everyone. what does the conversion do. Basically you record the video with a software called VirtualDub, deinterlace the video and finally compress it. It takes quite a long time to make each tape but the quality is amazing and as these are family memories I think it's worth it. didn't work for me so I used another one called Avidemux which gave me amazing results. All of these programs are also free :) The only complaint I have is that the software on the CD was warped and unreadable (I added a photo). I had to download the software from a Japanese site, but translating it into English was pretty easy with the help of Google. A lot of people gave this thing bad ratings just because the driver installation and manual were in Japanese, but that wasn't a problem at all, it's very intuitive and you don't need a manual to use this thing, it's just plug and play. I hope to be able to help someone as the reviews here have helped me. Sorry for any English error, this is not my native language. Hello from Brazil :)
