I have a Sithhound, so it's incredibly difficult to get his attention once he's interested in something interesting. Calling your name is pointless, clickers are a joke. and especially when your Greyhound/Hound/Long Dog etc unexpectedly runs away from you, they do about 3 jumps at full speed, knock back a few blocks and get into serious trouble within seconds. I can't say that whistle - IN TRAINING - will break through, but it's a heck of a lot better than yelling. My dog at least looks up and seems to associate the sound with me (and the treat), so it seems to be working great.
