Update August 2, 2021: I used this laser to burn a picture in wood for the first time in my life. I bought software called LightBurn and was finally able to set it up to work with this laser and my printer. Thanks to the LightBurn forum for helping me get it set right. GRBL is the correct control format. Original post: This 500MW TRONXY 3D Laser Module is a good entry-level device. However, the instructions that come with it aren't that great. There is no information on how to manage it. I downloaded and bought a program called Lightburn. It generates G-code which is very similar to a slicer program. However, the printer works with the laser, but not with the x and y axes. They stand still. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but I feel like Tronxy should give more detailed instructions. This laser has enough power to burn through cardboard. It'll be fun once I figure out how to move things. Overall I think this is a good laser for beginners and will be fun. I would give 5 stars if the instructions better explained how to use it. For this reason I can only give 3 stars.
