Review on Ferexer Reusable Motivational Borosilicate Neoprene by Barb Bosch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like borosilicate glass. But it has some problems

I try to avoid everything plastic but especially around food and drink. A recent study showed that just one common plastic ingredient (phthalates) can cause 100,000 premature deaths each year. So I try to use glass or stainless steel. I was keen to try a glass water bottle made from borosilicate glass, similar to Pyrex material. However, the glass is thin and I'm not very sure about its durability. I recently tested Chinese borosilicate glass pans and they break much easier than they should, not at all like a traditional Pyrex. Also, no straw is included. It would be easier with a retractable straw like other water bottles. It has a silicone insert when filling, like other glass jars, but it's bulky. It's hard to keep in place and falls out when you try to fill the bottle. It has a label on the side that's inaccurate (you need over 48 ounces of water a day) and you can't see it. with silicone case on it. Personally I will not remove the silicone case, I have a feeling it is for protection. It's about the same diameter as a glass jar, only taller. This is about 50% more than a 32 ounce glass. So it's easy to handle, but there's no carrying strap or anything like that. So I like the idea of it, but I'm a bit inconsistent. I wish it was a thicker material, I wish it was bigger and I wish it had a straw. 3.5 stars.
