It's okay for a fan. (which is what I use now) DO the ice blocks as advertised, let colder air blow on you for an hour or so while the air blows over the ice. They ALSO collect a HUGE amount of condensation, which gets partially soaked into the felt mat inside the fan. the rest just spreads all over the table. I stopped using ice and now it makes a decent looking table fan.
