I rent and I need an option so that there is no additional work. The faucet adapter was a problem for me because the faucet installed by my homeowner is not common, but I finally figured it out. The tubing is a bit stiff so depending on countertop space it can be tricky to weave it to your liking, but that worked too. After the installation I was very satisfied with the device. The taste and ease of use are excellent. Open the faucet, pull the small plug to activate the filtered water and when you're done, simply turn off the faucet - the plug will close itself when the water pressure decreases. As for replacing the filter - it's really not easy, but possible. I had my unit 7 months before changing the filter and it is only important to know that you press the gray ring to disconnect the hoses and unscrew them with pliers if necessary. I wrapped the wing nut in a kitchen towel and tapped the nose of the pliers lightly and this loosened it enough that it could be unscrewed by hand. One more note - I noticed a few streams coming out of the nozzle so I unscrewed the small outlet nozzle to find three very small metal filters. One had a rusty coating so I just threw it away and when it collected again the water came out in a single stream. Overall a great product.
