Upon opening package all we did was crank it for the recommended one minute and it worked perfectly.picked up local radio stations and some a bit farther away. The SOS alarm was very loud, the lights were bright, and all controls can be easily found in the dark. This item is a must have in any emergency or storm kit. Going to add one to each car as well. It's small enough to fit in most tool kits.
- It works fine, not sure for how long though as it is exceedingly cheaply made.
- The product is not waterproof and may not work in wet conditions
