I bought this pillow in my 1st trimester because of the reviews on here and other sites. And maybe compared to the cheaper U-shaped or half-U-shaped pillows, it was great. However, it does have some downsides that took some getting used to (and still do). At least for me. I've owned this pillow for about 2 months now, now in my second trimester, and while I have no regrets about buying it, here are the issues I have when buying it for pregnancy. It's kind of a mixed bag here. This is ideal for people with back pain or if you need to relieve pressure on your stomach and back. The pillow is U-shaped at the top so it's soft enough to conform to your back and form an even line across your neck when you lean against it. Only thing is, this thing is HUGE. It's also harder than my regular pillow. I still hope he relents! The hardness took some getting used to. Also, the front part of the pillow is kind of useless to me at the moment. You can slide between the two "legs" by tucking the back of the pillow under your back and hugging the front. It's great for cold climates but it gets warmer outside and this pillow is all polyester and HOT (except pregnancy) so you don't sweat at night like you put it in this thing on both sides! I also find the fabric very rough, so I put one of my own pillowcases over it. It clumps, but at least my face doesn't feel the prickly weave. I also use this pillow for reading before bed. I slide my regular pillow behind the head of the Comfort U pillow and lean on it. It's very beautiful, it's like Boppy but for adults! :) In general, despite the sharpness of the thing, the scratchy fabric, the relatively hard cushion filling and the uncomfortable position of the U's "legs", I hope that it will become more useful later, at times when my stomach is down, huge and I really NEED both sides. I wish I could try the single sided L shaped pillow first. This pillow takes up about half of our bed and my husband says it's so high it looks like there's another person between us! I miss hugging him, but sometimes at night I find him hugging the 'leg' that's closer to him, so I guess it's not that bad. :)
