Review on 🌩️ Chiseled Face Summer Storm Shaving Soap: Handmade Luxury with Rich, Thick Lather for Smooth, Comfortable Shaves – Tallow-Based USA-Made Soap by Michelle Chopra

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great shaving soap that doesn't smell like thunderstorms.

I love this soap. Most of time. Lathers and shaves GREAT. And it lasts a long time too. Smells good, but that's where the missing star went. More on that later. Comes with some crappy graphics on the front. (Or at least mine. Looks like they've changed that a bit since I bought mine a few months ago.) The soap itself looked weird, with little holes where I think there were bubbles when they were made was cast. Customs service. Had an almost soft dining point in the middle. But it's all worn down and it's now a nice smooth cream colored puck just waiting for the next shave. I usually leave the lid off because I don't need any residual water. simply pool and sit on the soap after use. The bathroom smells good. And like I said above, the lather and shave of this product are great. Simply the best foam I've ever had. It's not that I'm very knowledgeable about all the different soaps, but before that, Mitchell's Woolfat was my favorite. In terms of foam quality, it is simply unparalleled. FWIW, I bowl, shave with foam on my face. Used in the shower never disappoints. Now for the smell and why I deducted a star. If you've read the other reviews I think you have, you've probably read all sorts of paeans of praise for the "Petrikor," "Ozone," etc. smells emanating from this soap. When I bought this I was definitely thrilled that my face smelled (briefly) like a real summer storm, with wet mud, mowed grass and lingering ozone. I didn't know if it would smell good, but I thought it would be freaking cool to smell it on me every morning. At least a novel. What I actually got doesn't smell like petrichor, ozone, weed or anything like that. It smells good, don't get me wrong. And honestly, if it *plows* like they say, I'd probably get sick of it after a while, and I'd have to get something else to refresh my olfactory receptors. It really smells like a good cologne, a semi-sweet scent and not overpowering. (At least not now. I don't really remember if it was stronger/more common when I first got the soap.) It's good, but not what the description says. At least not for me.
