I have only used the bag once so far. It held up well during the ride. I had concerns about the mesh size when I ordered the bag. I'm happy to say the mesh is the perfect size. I had no problem putting my brush or other toiletries on this side. The bottom of the bag is slightly thicker than my previous bag. The extra thickness disappeared when I put all my toiletries inside. The outer material holds water at rest better than my previous bag. This bag feels just as sturdy as my previous bag. My previous bag (don't know which brand) lasted over 10 years. I hope this one lasts just as long.
