No frills monitor best in audio monitors

My last baby monitor burned down the night before we left to visit relatives so I bought this one mainly due to the fact that I was able to have it delivered with Prime delivery home the same day we arrived. Overall I'm happy with it, although I would like to know that it doesn't come with rechargeable batteries. You'll need standard 2AA batteries if you want to turn off the parent unit AND if you're using any kind of white noise generator near a baby monitor - expect the batteries in the parent unit to drain very, very quickly. No-frills monitor - does the job The battery saver works when there is no ambient noise around the baby unit to turn on the sound. can be used "separate" from the batteries. Cons: * I prefer the sound to be on all the time, even if the baby isn't crying. My old monitor was always on and it was a pleasure to listen and hear our daughter breathe. This monitor has a battery saver feature that is always on, meaning you won't hear anything unless you're crying or hear a continuous "noise" found in the baby's room. * The battery drains quickly when using white noise. in the children's room, which can accommodate a baby monitor. We no longer need to lull our daughter to sleep with the white noise, but while we did it meant the parent unit had to be connected to the network at all times. Also, the parent cannot talk through the child's monitor. I personally don't see this as a downside as I never found it a useful feature on my old monitor that offered it. Overall I am happy with this monitor. It's no frills and gets the job done. The only things that I think could make it better are the rechargeable batteries and the ability to turn off the "battery saver" so you can always hear audio.
