My 3 year old loved it. For him, he can bring puppies from TV to real life. Overall I think it's great for the price. My main problem is that there are no instructions. There are some details where it is not clear what they are used for. This is so easy to fix by visiting a place on the web that explains each part included and its role. The color is used for all pup icons, mostly two per pup, but you should use it for Rocky's body as well. This would work if you create the puppies and then disassemble them, but if you want to create them all at once then it's not possible. Also, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to buy more toys in that particular color. I enjoyed working with my son to determine all the colors we would need for the pup and then what pieces we needed to make and combine.
