I was having trouble with my driver's side brake light and traced it back to a worn connector. So I decided to replace it. The old one went in and out with no problems. Try as I might, I couldn't get this. I took a close look and it turned out that the three smaller tabs were rotated closer to the mounting tab by about 2mm. I also noticed that the colors of the plastic are different. I'm not sure what happened but I suspect if it was a genuine OEM part it would fit. I ended up bending the contact tabs on the old one and putting them back in place. Not worth sending back, I can sharpen the pins if I ever need them for the other side.
