I have big feet (women's size 44). This rug is not big enough at all (I would say it fits up to a women's size 8 or 9) but I expected it. My shower doesn't have suction - I have a tile floor (those little square tiles) and it has a slight incline. So the suction didn't stick - again I wasn't surprised. I planned to use it by holding it with one foot while cleaning with the other. It's just great for that. A little tricky to use (not recommended if you have balance issues) but better than anything I've found. It has a lot of suction cups and I think it will hold up well on a smooth floor or in a bathtub. I can hold it with one foot and rub it diagonally with the other. It's good for that purpose. I don't get much lather, which is probably due to the depth of the elastic threads and the body wash I use, but I don't think there's anything much better. I gave it a low rating as a gift because I personally don't give gifts that suggest the recipient needs to wash their feet!
