Review on πŸ’… Gellen Gel Nail Polish Kit: 6 Natural Skin Tone Colors with Top Coat & Base Coat for DIY Home Gel Manicure by Cathy Gonzales

Great price, easy to use even for a beginner, great colors!

First off, let me say that I'm terrible at doing my nails. They always end up streaky and lumpy, with bed sheet marks because somehow they never dry out completely. So I spent $30 at the salon every few weeks to get gel polish manicures for years. For Christmas this year, my husband bought me an LED gel lamp (which means I need to stop wasting money on a "thoughtful" gift). So I ordered this polish kit to use, not expecting it to actually look decent. I'm also amazed at how good my nails look! A few tips (maybe everyone already knows this but I had to learn the hard way), during the gel curing process the nail polish will feel sticky/tacky. I thought it didn't work properly, but it should be until the top coat is dry and rubbed with alcohol (vodka will probably work too, I guess). So don't touch them during the process to see if they dry, as you're doing nothing but leaving imprints. I used the LED for 30 seconds on the base layer, 60 seconds on each color layer, and 60 seconds on the top layer. Try not to put nail polish anywhere near your cuticles or skin at all, as such a manicure is done professionally at home. I definitely recommend this set, it's great value and comes with Top Coat, Base Coat, Light Grey, White, Mauve, Dark Grey, Light Pink and Tawny. Some colors have more imperfections than others. So if you're like me, start with a shade that suits your skin tone and then practice until you get a bolder/higher contrast shade. I hope I can make bright white for the summer! I got my nails done yesterday so I don't know how long the gel will last. If this aspect disappoints I will update my review. Hope this review helps!
